Child care businesses are critical employers throughout Texas and the services they provide are crucial to supporting and growing the economy. However, almost all child care businesses were hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, with many going out of business or operating now, on the edge of solvency.
To help our child care businesses recover from the Pandemic, the Texas Workforce Commission is launching a Child Care Relief Fund and providing FREE business coaching starting in June 2021.
To receive the Child Care Relief Fund your child care business must be:
1. A licensed or registered child care center or home;
2. Open and operating in Texas as of May 1, 2021; and
3. Not currently on corrective or adverse action with Texas Health and Human Services Commission Child Care Regulation.
Providers will receive a link emailed directly to them to apply, and help is available free of charge — they can request help on childcare.texas.gov.
Remember — the funding portal closes July 11, 2021, so please act soon.
