Workforce Solutions East Texas can provide many services to adults with barriers to employment through our WIOA Program (Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act). This program allows us to provide job skills for our future job seekers. We can do this by providing paid work experience, on-the-job training, work readiness courses, and scholarships for school!
To be eligible, you must meet the income requirement and/or have a barrier to employment
which can include, but is not limited to:
Having a layoff letter
Receiving unemployment
Attending a RESEA or rapid response through Workforce Solutions
Having a disability
Having interactions through the criminal justice system
Being on low-income programs like SNAP, TANF, or housing

MyTxCareer.com is ideal for those who just need a job and not other services offered by the system.
TAA
Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) for Workers is a federally funded program, with no costs to employers, that helps workers who are adversely affected by foreign imports or job shifts to a foreign country.
TANF
The Choices program provides job search assistance and support services to persons receiving cash assistance benefits through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant. The Choices program features a Work First policy that focuses on helping families transition to self-sufficiency through a quick connection to the workforce.
SNAP
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Employment and Training (SNAP E&T) program requires persons age 16 – 59 receiving food stamp benefits to participate in employment, training or work-related activities unless they are exempt under the law.
NCP
The Non-Custodial Parent (NCP) Choices Program targets low-income unemployed or underemployed non-custodial parents who are behind on their child support payments and whose children are current or former recipients of public assistance.
Workforce Solutions provides a variety of options to help customers with disabilities use the services, resources and information offered at each of our Workforce Centers.
